Paul was born in Mississippi and has been playing

music from his early teens. His early musical

influences were classic country singers such as 

Ernest Tubbs, Merle Haggard, and Johnny

Cash. In his teen years, Paul and a friend

Stacy Blackwell, started the Backroads band

based out of Bay Springs, MS

(www.backroadsband.net). Backroads worked

hard perfecting their harmonies based on their

influence from Alabama, Restless Heart and

other bands. This harmony influence can be

seen in the outstanding three-part harmony

work of Earshot. Paul has played in bands in

Austin, TX, to Bay Springs, MS and Rocky

Mount, NC. Paul enjoys all types of music

including rock, blues, bluegrass, and country.

Paul has performed with Faith Perry

(now Faith Hill) and opened for entertainers

such as Marshall Tucker, Exile, Eddy Raven,

Percy Sledge, Bandana, and others.
